Yr 6 Junior Citizen

Last week, Year 6 visited the Junior Citizen Trust based at the fire station in Rewley Road in central Oxford. In small groups, they were taught how to keep themselves safe when out and about. Most of the activities were immersive, where the children explored carefully designed scenarios such as a living room, a roadside where a cyclist appears to be unconscious after a fall, and a river where someone appears to be in trouble. In each activity, professionals from the police, the railways, and the fire and rescue service guided the children through eight activities and all children had the chance to make a 999 call. Feedback from the Junior Citizen Trust was excellent - our children were respectful and considerate throughout - well done, Larch and Cedar!
