Year 5 Bikeability Sessions

Some children in Elm Class have been taking part in the Bikeability programme which provides children with the skills, knowledge and understanding to cycle safely on the roads. Children have learnt about the ‘ABCDs’ of cycle maintenance and are building their road confidence. Trained instructors help children cycle safely and responsibly, identify and respond to hazards, learn to start and stop on-road journeys and maintain suitable riding positions, show children how to share the road and communicate with other road users, understand signals, signs and road markings and advise children how to manage risk when cycling and negotiate junctions. A valuable life skill!
