Woodlands Update - Monday 13th October 2025

10:00pm - Woodlands Manor

The house is almost silent after an exciting and action packed first day.  Whilst the journey was lengthy, the time soon passed, and we arrived at the centre about 1:30pm.  We popped our belongings in rooms and met our instructors, who introduced us to the house and the week's aims and expectations.  Then, before we knew it, we were out and about around the grounds doing some brilliant team building activities.  Some of these were physically challenging, for example getting the whole team over a huge wooden wall, whilst some were more mentally taxing for example moving huge different sized tyres from one location to the other but keeping them in size order.

Dinner was scrummy - goujons, chips and veg followed by apple pie and custard, after which we togged back up for a great evening of orienteering in the dark.  It was such fun zipping over the site finding clues and identifying these on the map.  It was also brilliant to marvel at the cute bats flying right above our heads and hearing the owls hooting in the trees.   After a drink, some board games and a story, the children headed up to bed and the house is now pretty much settled.

Tomorrow, Group 1 (with Mrs Fifield and Ms Guthrie) are going deep underground to the amazing cave system, Group 2 (Ms Maskell and Mrs Bethel) will be above the ground but on water, canoeing near Brecon.  Groups C and D (Mrs Dowe and Mrs Reaney) are climbing and tackling the high ropes and zip lines. The weather forecast looks to be cloudy, but it looks like the sun will shine in the afternoon!

Night night! Over n out for now!
