St Swithun's Water Day
On 13th July we celebrated St Swithun’s Day early…it’s on 15th July. The legend is that the weather on 15 July supposedly determines the weather for the next forty days, as noted in the popular Elizabethan verse:
“St Swithin’s day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithin’s day if thou be fair
For forty days will rain na mair”
EYFS and KS1 celebrated Saint Swithun will lots of fun watery activities which were perfect for our sunny weather.
