School Council Elections
We have recently elected our School Councillors. School Councillors are elected by the class so that each class, from years 2 - 6, have two school councillors. Their role is to represent the children in their class and to be their voice in the school. Mrs Knighton meets with the children at least once a term and asks the to gather children's voice prior to each meeting. The focus for this term has been on feedback regarding the changes we have made to lunchtimes with OPAL. In addition, School Council are also going to represent the school on the children's voice regarding sustainability and this is their first message - from our year 5 school councillors:
'We have recently signed up to Cut your Carbon. This is an initiative from Eco-Schools and challenges us all to cut our carbon throughout November with 9 small carbon-cutting activities which we can do at home. We will be presenting in assembly on our return from half term and we will send more information in Tuesday Newsday on 31st October.' Izzy, Barney, Luca and Summer.
